Hi, I'm Volodymyr

Sr. Product Designer at Kyivstar.Tech  opens in a new tab in Kyiv, Ukraine.

I work on products that help teams and companies communicate, make sense of data, and keep complex operations running.

An engineering background means I design with implementation in mind — not just how things look, but how they hold up.

Career journey

My path into product design wasn’t linear. I started on the technical side and gradually moved closer to users, products, and strategy. Here’s how that journey unfolded.

  • May 2020 - Present

    Sr. Product Designer

    Kyivstar | Kyivstar.Tech

Leading design for the Kyivstar API Portal — a self-service platform for messaging and data products used by external partners and internal teams, with focus on developer experience, onboarding, and operational reliability.

    Impact:

    • Reduced friction across the partner journey — from discovery and onboarding to integration and ongoing usage.

    • Improved clarity and consistency across key workflows, making the platform easier to adopt and operate.

    • Strengthened the foundation for scalable, self-service integrations across the ecosystem.

  • Aug 2017 - May 2020

    Product Designer

    Sensogram Technologies, Inc.

Designed mobile and web applications for biosensor-based products, translating complex health data into clear, actionable insights for everyday use. Worked closely with scientists, engineers, and product teams to align technical capabilities with real user needs.

    Impact:

    • Transformed complex sensor outputs into understandable visualizations, enabling users to make informed decisions from continuous data streams.

    • Improved usability of data-heavy interfaces, reducing cognitive load and increasing engagement.

    • Established a UX foundation that carried through subsequent product iterations.

  • Feb 2017 - Aug 2017

    UI/UX Designer

    Kultprosvet

First professional design role, working on web platforms while transitioning from development to UX. Brought a developer's perspective to usability decisions — understanding implementation constraints from both sides of the process.

  • Jul 2015 - Jan 2017

    Frontend Developer

    Kultprosvet

Built production web applications and features, gaining hands-on experience with implementation constraints, performance, and real-world trade-offs. This technical foundation shaped how I later approached design — with an understanding of what happens after the mockup is handed off.

My Story

Architecture was my first design language — I've always been drawn to turning ideas into structures that exist in the real world. Discovering product design didn't feel like a career switch. It felt like swapping bricks for pixels.

A background in construction engineering taught me to build things that last. Two years in front-end development taught me how software actually comes to life — from the first line of code to production realities. I learned to think in systems, speak the language of developers, and design with implementation in mind.

Today, I bring those worlds together. Not to ship interfaces, but to design systems that hold up — under real users, real scale, and real constraints.
